Mission and Values
RattleSnake 4x4s is dedicated to fostering a passionate community of 4×4 enthusiasts who value adventure, camaraderie, and responsible land stewardship. Our mission is to educate and empower our members in the art and skills of wheeling (and promoting the sport and hobby for future generations), vehicle maintenance, and community service.
More than a third of our membership are veterans or first responders, so it’s no wonder that we believe in giving back to our community, supporting local charities, and promoting a love for the great outdoors. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are committed to making a positive impact both on and off the trails.

Common Questions About Our Events
Our events are designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all members, whether you’re a seasoned off-roader or new to the scene.
Open events are for anyone interested in joining, while Closed runs are for Members Only, occasionally we have runs that are By Invitation, allowing Members to invite others to come along and check our club out.
Here are some frequently asked questions to help you prepare for participation.
Do I need prior four wheeling experience?
No prior experience is necessary for most events. We offer guidance and support for newcomers, ensuring everyone can participate safely and confidently.
If you’re new to 4x4s and the wheeling sport, don’t be shy, speak up, and ask questions. The only silly questions are those that are never asked, and hence never answered.
What gear do I need to bring?
Participants should bring basic off-roading gear, including a recovery kit, first aid supplies, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Always plan for the unexpected and bring something to eat and drink, incase we’re out longer than expected.
Specific gear requirements will be listed in each event’s details.
How do I sign up for an event?
For Closed Events;
Members can sign up for events through our event calendar on our FaceBook Private Group.
For Open Events;
Anybody can sign up for events through our event calendar on our Facebook Public Page.
Facebook Event Ettiquette:
We appreciate folks marking that they are interested, however, it is much more helpful when you mark going, so planners can get an accurate list of who to expect and plan accordingly.
Can side by sides (SxS) join?
RattleSnake 4x4s is a 4×4 club not a Side by Side (SxS) club and Member vehicles should be able to legally drive to and from the trail and we require that they have an actual transfer case. There are many reasons for this, but it comes down to logistics, for travel and the difference in laws for each vehicle class.
SxSs in many cases may not be allowed to legally travel on certain roadways or trails, and they may be required to trailer the SXS to the trailheads, sometimes even including simple crossings. To avoid the added logistics and delays for other members, in accomodating this class of OHV/UTV we have decided against general membership for SxSs.
Are there vehicle requirements?
Yes, vehicles must be equipped with 4-wheel drive and have adequate clearance for trail conditions as well as tow points front and rear in the event a recovery is necessary. Some events may require additional modifications, which are specified in the event description.
How well built does my vehicle need to be?
In most clubs you will have variations, and this allows those with less to learn about the possibilities for their own vehicles. Don’t be intimidated by some of our Member’s builds, they have most likely been at this for a while, and have installed many incredible upgrades. Often times most of our runs need little more than a stock 4×4.
